2025-03-14 15:29:49 | n8dmt@mastodon.radio | 20 | Success! | #HamChallenge #HamRadio HC21SUsed GNU Radio to build a local 10m repeater (all mode) which was used to complete a local 10 meter FM repeater contact as part of ham challenge week nine. Using Pluto SDR as the RF front end for this system. System allowed ICOM IC-705 & IC-7000 FM radios to communicate via the 100 KHz repeater-split. |
2025-05-21 22:12:07 | DJ3CE@social.darc.de | 13 | Success! | Last year, I had thought about decoding DCF77 with gnuradio and failed quite miserably. So this weeks #hamchallenge was a good chance try this again. I'd never try to really implement it like this in some sort of 'product', but, I get a stream of bits out of it and with some manual bit counting, I can tell you, that there won't be a leap second in the next hour ;). HC21SAttached there's a screenshot of the flowgraph and some real-signal graphs.@hamchallenge |
2025-05-24 10:26:55 | ei7ijb@mastodon.radio | 6 | Working on it... | For the 21st challenge, 'Create a GNU Radio flowgraph!’, I will give it a try. I had been inspired by Onno @vk6flab’s project, Bald Yak, to make a head start with GNU Radio but the steps required to install the same on a macOS has stopped me from jumping head first. I need to read, search or find an install that wouldn’t tax my ageing computer. #hamchallenge HC21 @hamchallenge |
2025-05-25 16:46:23 | ian@mastodon.radio | 18 | Working on it... | Trying to catch up on Ham Radio Challenge week 21, create a GNU Radio Flowgraph. Technically a success as I did use the built-in WBFM receiver to listen to Radio 1. Trying my own SSB receiver from scratch is a bit of a jump in difficulty though - and I'm starting to doubt this RTL-SDR really works properly on HF. (Or more likely, I don't know how to use it properly). Might postpone this one until another day.#HamChallenge HC21 |
