52 Week Ham Radio Challenge 2025 - Week 22: Simulate an electric circuit!

Challenge for 2025-05-26 - 2025-06-01:

Category: 🛠️ - Difficulty: 🔴

Simulate an electric circuit!
Use a circuit simulator to simulate any electric circuit!
If you have never simulated a circuit before, you may find on-line simulators like CircuitLab a great starting point.
Here are some ideas what to simulate (with increasing difficulty): What are the difficulties you encountered during while setting up and running your simulation?

Included a simple output graph showing dB gain of the circuit. Other possible simulations include input return loss, output match, time domain waveforms, harmonic distortion vs. drive level, and much more. Lots of fun to learn and experiment with this circuit simulation tool.#HamRadio #RFDesign #Simulation

2025-05-24 10:26:55ian@mastodon.radio18Success!For Ham Challenge week 22, the challenge was to simulate an electric circuit. The recommended web-based tool, CircuitLab, had a strict time limit without creating an account, so I decided to use KiCad and its built-in spice functions instead as this seemed a more useful skill anyway. Here's a simple common emitter amplifier.#HamChallenge HC22S
2025-05-29 12:14:42DJ3CE@social.darc.de13Working on it...Using qucs-s and ngspice for #hamchallenge HC22. I'm still hunting "issues" with (i guess) numerical instabilities, leading to near constant simulations (transient simulations of quite simple transistor circuits). Sometimes a simulation works well and with just changing back and forth a component, stops working. 🤔 @hamchallenge
