Issue is that my indoor mag loop does not cover 6m (only up to 10m).Need to set a mental reminder to review this challenge again after setting up a temp OUTDOOR antenna over 2024 ARRL Field Day weekend. Typically try to work a station or two on each of the allowed bands (40m and up) as part of that activity. Worked a few CW and FT-8 stations last year on 6m…#HamRadio #HamChallenge
2025-05-19 01:32:32yo3gnd@mastodon.radio31Success!The condx were terrible and I really, really hoped for a 6m qso, but nothing happened. I did hear F4JRC, about 2000 km away on the magic band #HC28S.Contacting other xOTA station wasn't as easy as the usual P2P or P2S, but I did get ~15 in the log, not counting multiple parks and multiple ops setups. #HC16SI even had some CW qsos with other hams with whom I share this instance #HC38S, but I couldn't find someone for #HC30 #hamchallenge

2025-07-13 15:15:58ian@mastodon.radio27Success!Circumstances were against me getting the proper 6m antenna out this week, but I received some sporadic-E signals nonetheless.Week 28 makes another batch of four, so you can read the full details of this and the previous three weeks here:https://ianrenton.com/blog/52-week-ham-radio-challenge-roundup-weeks-25-28/#HamChallenge HC28S
2025-07-14 17:00:28K3LOE@mastodon.radio10Success!This map shows the grids I've worked over the last month on 6m FT8, since getting an N4HER aluminum dipole for $20. Furthest contact was a station 1881 km away in Quebec on the Gulf of St. Lawrence. I'm not sure how I'd confirm after the fact which were sporadic e and which may have been F2 or tropospheric ducting. But I assume some of these were so I'm giving myself a win for #HC28S https://hamchallenge.org/2025/28#HamRadio #6m #RadioPropagation #AmateurRadio #HamChallenge @hamchallenge
