2025-09-07 17:43:38g7kse@mastodon.radio35Success!Both HC39S and HC50S done. 50 is about a 100mW QSO and 39 is about APRS.My LoRa APRS tracker uses a Heltec tracker module. It's 100mW output & has made it an impressive 85 miles from Seatallan summit before it was gated. This is on the 433MHz band.I also use a similar module for Meshtastic. Which gets used quite regularly for text chit chat. Mostly across the Irish sea to the IoM. This one is 868 MHz.I think I need to try a CW contact as well. Just need an attenuator.
2025-09-21 11:29:54ian@mastodon.radio35Success!Ham Challenge Week 39 is to make a contact on 100mW or less! The only radio I have with an on-screen display of Tx power in Watts is the X6100, so I set it to 0.1W and gave FT8 a try. Bit of a faff with audio levels and CAT ports as expected but I got there!#HamChallenge HC39S
2025-09-24 10:46:56bgarfoot@kind.social21Success!Week 39 of the actually proved to be more fun and fruitful than I thought. I set my radio to 100 mW on 40m FT8 (since that's really all that's open this time of morning), and got 3 contacts back:K3GB at 735km awayKO4LU at 825km awayand W1LBW at an impressive 1105km away!I might try again later on 30m or 20m, but for now, a big HC39S!#amatuerRadio #hamradio

2025-09-28 14:32:25M0CUV@mastodon.radio3Success!After rebuilding my loft fan dipole and tweaking it for resonance, I reduced power output to 100mW, on 18mHz, and was heard over Europe and in the USA.. and successfully completed a contact with EB1GUA, Valladolid, Spain! HC39S #HamRadio #HamChallenge
