2025-05-19 10:41:29yo3gnd@mastodon.radio31Success!#HC47S Run a POTA marathon during a solar storm Kp 5/6/7 (easy/med/hard). One of the oddest and most enjoyable things I did in March 2024 was running a POTA rover against the UTC clock while the Sun became angrier and angrier. From difficult contacts and decreasing reports, I had to arrange skeds for the last parks to keep it going.I even tried an activation in the autumn of 2025, with Kp=8. 20 stations in the log, FT8 only.@hamchallenge
2025-05-19 10:42:30yo3gnd@mastodon.radio31Success!#HC47S Over the air collab games. Add the number from your call to a running total. The last person to post is the person who is hunted, and others have to work him. First come, first serve. If he's unavailable for more than a week, the previous caller returns in the game.Say Fabian starts, DJ5CW. I sked and he sends me the last number (0) plus the one from his call (0+5=5). He posts 5 under the challenge.I now have to sked or be hunted. I'll TX and post (5+3=)8.@hamchallenge
2025-05-19 10:45:30yo3gnd@mastodon.radio31Success!#HC47S Arrange for a greyline sked. Keep tabs of the signal reports during the whole window of opportunity and see how the signal booms in and fades out. For digimodes, you can either try a keyboard-to-keyboard mode which monitors the sig.al (Olivia, PSK, JS8) or try multiple exchanges on FT8/FT4.From Europe, the greyline lands on different US states at different parts of the year.@hamchallenge

2025-06-18 03:13:15n8dmt@mastodon.radio21Success!@kr1st Very nice! Based on your project, I propose “build an accessory for your station” as a candidate for HC47S Submit an idea for Ham Challenge 2026. #HamChallenge #HamRadio
2025-11-19 08:22:04df5go@radiosocial.de25Success!My idea for #HamChallenge 2026:Make a direct contact (i.e. not using a repeater) over 30 km or more using only a VHF/UHF handheld transceiver.#hamradio #amateurradio #Amateurfunk #HC47S
2025-11-20 00:04:40mcdanlj@social.makerforums.info19Success!Design, build, and use an inductor for any ham-related purpose, and say what tools you used for the design, what the purpose is, and whether it works. Failure is always an option! #HC47S
2025-11-21 08:11:45ian@mastodon.radio42Success!My suggestion for next year is to step up the portable operation from one to at least two: make it a rove! Pick at least two xOTA references in different locations, and activate both on the same day.#HamChallenge HC47S
2025-11-21 18:55:53siwli@toot.berlin21Success!For #hamchallenge 2026 I suggest to build an antenna using only (okay, or mostly) stuff you find in your home, outside of your shack. (As an inspiration: Successful tries in this home included spoons, paper clips and a popsicle stick).#HC47S #hamradio #amateurfunk
2025-11-23 12:59:04ei7ijb@mastodon.radio10Success!For the 47th challenge, 'Submit an idea for the Ham Challenge 2026!’, I would like to submit ‘Create a time capsule that captures what the hobby means to you as of today’. The type of time capsule you want to hold the content(s), the time period of the time capsule, and the content of the time capsule, would be unique to you. One might even look at it as a project that involves the club, and/or local community, and/or international community. #hamchallenge HC47S @hamchallenge
2025-12-06 10:54:30DJ3CE@social.darc.de17Success!@dj3eiIt's a pleasure to 'play games' for the fun of social interaction and getting to know people. Games don't have to be about scores. Thanks for taking part @dj3ei :).For #Hamchallenge 2026 I'd like to propose "Help someone to get a #hamchallenge done" ;). HC47S@hamchallenge
