2025-05-20 21:10:17yo3gnd@mastodon.radio31Success!I accidentally stumbled upon this on 17619KHz AM @ 1618Z. Sounds like Chinese? #HC32S #hamchallenge short-wave.info lists some very odd info about schedules and frequencies for CRI

2025-08-06 09:57:11g7kse@mastodon.radio30Success!Going through my stuff and have the same result as @dd1mat with the Midwinter broadcast. Ascension Island was the weakest for me. I've missed this broadcast so many times. Such a nice thing to do, send a message to those over wintering in Antarctica HC32S
2025-08-06 21:04:43ian@mastodon.radio30Success!Ham Challenge week 32 is a simple one, "Listen to a broadcast station from another country".At this time of year you can sometimes hear French FM stations, but sadly not today. However, there's always good old China Radio International sat just above the 40m band to remind you you've spun the dial too far.I tuned in to 7210kHz AM for some soothing Chinese traditional music, followed by news or propaganda or something else in a language I don't speak!HC32S

2025-08-08 12:27:41bgarfoot@kind.social13Success!HC32S. I managed to find Radio New Zealand Pacific, on 9700 khz. Pretty good signal on my antenna, which is basically ideal for the 30m band.

2025-08-08 22:15:37df5go@radiosocial.de16Success!Shortwave broadcasting nowadays seems to be dominated by China Radio International: this evening we heard transmissions from them in Russian, English, Czech, Hungarian and German.Additionally we received Radio Romania in Serbian, Korea Broadcasting System (South Korea) in French, Voice of Turkey also in French, Voice of Korea (North Korea) in English and Korean, Voice of Vietnam in German and Radio New Zealand in English.#HamChallenge #HC32S

2025-08-08 22:23:38df5go@radiosocial.de16Success!So eight languages in just about one hour scanning the broadcasting bands. Quite interesting, we should listen to short wave broadcasting bands more often! We used a 2.5 m vertical on the balcony into an FT-818.To identify the broadcasters we used the websites https://shortwave.live and https://short-wave.info .While the first is nicer to use on a smartphone the latter shows also the transmitter location.#HamChallenge #HC32S

2025-08-16 11:43:15DJ5CW@social.darc.de24Success!#hamchallenge #HC32S "Listen to a broadcast station from another country": I did a quick tune over the 19m band, and I stopped on 15290 kHz where I heard a Japanese transmission with a very strong signal. As expected, the transmitter of this is not in Japan but in France. From the very same site, I also picked up Radio France International on 15300 kHz. On 15350 kHz I found a much weaker signal with lots of fading: China Radio Int., transmitted from Western China (Kashgar City) @hamchallenge
