2025-01-05 16:36:01siwli@toot.berlin1Progress update...New QSL-Card in the making. Might not be the final design, but I used the #hamchallenge prompt HC01 to finally get started. #hamradio
2025-01-12 16:34:05siwli@toot.berlin1Success!Done. Finalized the design today and uploaded to the DARC QSL service. Looking forward to our new QSL cards! #hamchallenge HC01S #siwlifunk
2025-01-12 17:13:26siwli@toot.berlin2Success!This morning, after limited success in participating in the DARC 10m Contest (using a telescope antenna on the balcony in Berlin), we tried to hear the NCDXF beacons. Identified 4X6TU on 28 MHz and OH2B on 14 MHz. Tried again now using WebSDR with more success but did not take any notes - I was too focused on identifying the call signs of the beacons. I'll still call #hamchallenge HC02S a success - I listened to the beacons *and* used WebSDR for the first time! #hamradio #amateurfunk #siwlifunk
2025-01-27 21:17:17siwli@toot.berlin4Success!According to my research in old callbox at https://archive.org/details/dlarc?tab=collection, neither of the 2 callsigns I've used were assigned previously (at least until 1995, which is the most current of the callbooks I looked into). Thus no interesting findings here but since I more or less expected this, I'll still mark this little research as a success. Looking through old callbooks was fun, too. #hamchallenge HC04S
2025-02-14 16:07:25siwli@toot.berlin5Success!Finally got around to uploading my favorite antenna photo to my qrz.com page (yeah, the sunset one that's also on my new QSL card) and I created a hamqth.com profile. Thus HC05S #hamchallenge @hamchallenge
2025-02-14 16:20:26siwli@toot.berlin7Success!Oh, and #hamchallenge HC07S: I browsed through the CQ DL magazine which lives on the reading pile in our bathroom and checked the list of active DXpeditions. Even though our home setup (low power, limited antenna options in a flat in the city) might not really allow to compete in pile-ups and have a successful QSO with a DXpedition, I really enjoy reading the stories on the challenges and successes of these adventures!@hamchallenge
2025-03-02 21:03:26siwli@toot.berlin6Success!Today I participated for about half an hour in the VHF contest, using @df5go's trusty FT-818 and a HB9CV. Had 5 successful QSOs in that time, thus #hamchallenge HC06S.As (almost) always, we were outside, since the weather was sunny despite the cloudy weather forecast 🌞, making it a little family excursion today. Most of the time, one of my kids participated under the supervision of @df5go, I only took over the mic at the end of the contest for some time.@hamchallenge
2025-03-02 21:08:27siwli@toot.berlin8Progress update...Oh, and one more #hamchallenge post: Some days ago, a friend texted me and asked if I could show her "that radio thing you do" when we next meet. If course! So, HC08 I guess? We'll see if she'll actually think about getting a license at some point, but since friends rarely actively ask me to learn more about amateur radio, so I'll count this as semi-successful influencing and will encourage her to learn more 😃@hamchallenge

2025-03-08 15:50:01siwli@toot.berlin29Success!Followed the call posted by @k8vsy and went outside for a POTA activity today in the south of Berlin (DE-0493) Had my ever first pile-up and after some initial panic managed quite okay.Since I had some Parc-to-Parc QSOs, I guess this counts as #hamchallenge HC29S and HC16S@hamchallenge
2025-04-13 12:40:35siwli@toot.berlin42Success!I managed to receive one of the images sent by the ISS today, using my little Baofeng UV-5R and the Robo36 app on my phone. The image is not perfect due to noise but I'm still really happy it worked.Counting this as #hamchallenge HC42S and HC10S 😎@hamchallenge

2025-04-21 17:40:55siwli@toot.berlin17Progress update...I used https://repeatermap.de/ to check for FM repeaters close to where I live and found that since the beginning of the year, there is DB0BLX in the middle of Berlin. Can't try using it since I'm not at home currently but will try when I'm back. #hamchallenge HC17 @hamchallenge
2025-05-30 14:32:43siwli@toot.berlin12Success!It took me a while to come up with an idea for the "unusual antenna" #hamchallenge but after some experimenting, let me introduce you to the "Di-Spoon"! I had a successful QSO with @df5go on 70cm over 500m to our local parc, so HC12S! More tests to follow.@hamchallenge
