2025-01-13 16:09:35kr1st@mastodon.radio3Success!HC03S I just worked F6CTT on 3796 kHz LSB for the week 3 #HAMChallenge (Edit: I added the HC03S; dunno if the bot picks up edits.)#hamradio #AmateurRadio
2025-01-27 21:18:10kr1st@mastodon.radio4Success!@hamchallenge I just completed my HS04S #hamchallenge. It turns out that no one else had my callsign before me. This is because the KR1 prefixes were never issued until the current vanity callsign program became available in 1996. I got my callsign on 05/11/2001. I remember that it wasn't until I filled out my vanity callsign request form that I checked if KR1ST was still available and to my amazement it was and promptly made it my first choice. It may have been my wife who suggested that.
2025-03-17 23:31:28kr1st@mastodon.radio35Success!Inspired by this post from @n8dmt I wanted to see if my OpenWebRx+ using a small active loop would be able to receive and decode weather fax:https://mastodon.radio/@n8dmt/114178359563833037Sure enough it would receive NMF-Boston just fine on 6338 kHz, even during daylight hours with a little QSB.I guess I unlocked #HamChallenge achievement HC35S. 😀 It makes me wonder if this is actually still used by ships.@hamchallenge
